I paid full retail for the book at a local game store. The note in the book is on the back page and is really nothing. I started playing Super Mario Galaxy last night and my Mario got killed inside the metal planet which comes right before the Comet Observatory. This book was very helpful because it told me exactly what I must now do to move on.

When it comes to video games for the holiday season, none has been able to shine as boldlly as Super Mario Galaxy. It is definitely the best Mario game I’ve ever enjoyed since Super Mario 64. While the game itself has proven a new dimension about platform adventure games, I just wish I could say a bit more about the strategy guides. Since Nintendo made the abrupt decision to stop making their own strategy guides, and leave it up to third-party publisher Prima, it is really tough to tell if the hype is also worth the wait of the guide. This Super Mario Galaxy Collector’s Edition has a lot of nice features when it comes to the maps and displays, but I wish it could be easier to understand certain areas on how master the game, where over 350 pages, unlike the regular Prima version. There are some nice features here including a beautiful poster and some great bits of Mario trivia. While it is great as a collector’s item for die hard Mario fans, I wish it could’ve been a bit more compact.

I picked up this “collector’s edition” mainly because I loved the corresponding one for Twilight Princess. This one is written by a different author, but is published by the same company, so I figured they’d be similar. Not so.
First of all (and perhaps beside the point) Super Mario Galaxy is not that difficult or expansive game as to require a guide. The way this thing is laid out makes reading it difficult and looks like a highschool yearbook staff could have thrown it together. Definitely not of the quality and depth of the Zelda book. I definitely DO NOT recommend this to anyone. If you really must use a guide for the game, pick up the cheaper one that isn’t bloated and poorly done like this. I’m really disappointed b/c the Zelda guide was so great!

I live in France. The guide was sent very quickly. Nothing damaged, excellent item.

I bought this book for my son for Christmas along with the game. The book came shrink wrapped and the cover is beautiful! This is also a very heavy book I was surprised by the weight of it. I didn’t open the shrink wrap and I know I am “judging a book by it’s cover” but I just know he is going to love it
