I recently purchased this HP 14.1 inch computer. I really like the laptop: its stylish look, and its size. The only thing I was not happy with is the prize after I realized that it’s basically an empty shell. Hardly any software at all, a lot junk software that you don’t really need like snapfish to get photos. But I only get Microsoft office for 60 days and then I have to buy the software or not have anything to write with! I wouldn’t have bought it if I realized sooner.

The HP Pavilion dv4 seems to be a fine computer. I’ve had it about 2 months now and no complaints other than maybe the battery life before needing recharge, seems a little short to me, but than again this is my first laptop, so I’m really not that familiar with lengths on a charge.

I’m an owner of several HP laptops during the past several years, and all have been good performers. I just acquired the dv4-2173 and it is fast, has a really great keyboard, and is feature rich (I’m still in the learning phase). Note that it came with Win 7 Home Premium which now has the language package (earlier I could only get the language pack in Win 7 Ultimate). Although it is nominally a 14-inch display, it is very similar to the dv6 – you probably won’t notice the difference…. weight is a bit on the heavy side, but the DVD is removable for travel if that fits your needs.
